Liberals: the definition of meaningless
Put them out of their misery. The Liberal Party of Canada should disband. They are useless, ineffective, and are hurting Canada.
The Liberals are liberal in name only. The could be called “The Not Conservative Party of Canada” or something else as useless and lame.
There is no need for the Liberals to exist. If Canadians want to pay someone to not do their job, I would be willing to do it for half the price they are paying Dion.
A while ago I suggested that the Liberals would need to get busy and make a name for themselves in order to actually be able to win some votes. I don’t think it is now possible to come out of this rut.
I grew up in the country. If an animal was hurt and dying it was better to put it out of its misery than let it suffer.
I also have aunts who are nurses. If a person is in a persistent vegetative state, it is better to let them to pass on than to keep them here for our own purposes.
We do not need the Liberals. The only reason to keep them is to balance out the name spectrum (Liberal v. Conservative). But that is not even a real reason.
But, i fear, the Liberals will remain a party and this circus of idiotolatry will continue. This is because a pathetic leader can still have pathetic sheep.

If I vote Conservative, NDP, or Green, I have a good idea what I will get. If I vote Liberal, I don’t know what I will get from them especially if Stéphane Dion’s Liberals form the government. I picture in my mind a future Dion quote: “It is necessary to get out of Afghanistan only if it is necessary and we have the necessary means to do so.”
Stéphane Dion won the Liberal leadership partly based on his environmental stance. Now, he has to deal with other issues. He’s not doing well right now.
With a post like this full of fresh ideas and bridge-building politics, I think YOU should replace Dion.
You can take all that junk devoid of substance he put forward during the Liberal leadership campaign and flush it down the toilet.
In fact, YOU DON’T EVEN HAVE TO READ IT!
JJ, I assume you are being sarcastic. But there are problems with what you are suggesting.
First, I am not a Liberal. Never have been. Likely never will be.
Second, I am an advocate for bridge-building politics, however Dion is not making such connections. Every chance he has to take a stance and join hands with the other parties he does not. He speaks out against the Conservatives but does nothing to prove that he means it.
Third, I know Dion has some good ideas but those ideas, along with everything that he put forward during the leadership campaign will be meaningless unless he can actually do something.
Forth, how can I flush something down the toilet when the Liberals have already done that for me? (or was that their credibility?)
