The Purge of 2008

I am looking for at least one good, solid reason not to purge all of the previous posts on my site and then change course dramastically.

Blogs are easily ignored. In fact I generally ignore them. Their power is like power found anywhere else. Power only exists where it is granted. And usually the only people who grant power to blogs are those who believe the power of their own blog.

I also question my contribution. I don’t believe in political blogging. Blogging, if merely a log of thoughts, is useful to provide information but not in convincing others. I usually look for information in sources which I trust and not in places where I question the messenger. Political blogging is a log of political thoughts and will not be very convincing to those who already oppose those politics. Preaching to the choir is not really all that worthwhile of a hobby.

I binged earlier this year thinking that I may then motivate myself to continue blogging about politics and whatnot. But that was unfruitful because of my lack of faith. It was also unfruitful because I could not see any truly helpful analysis of politics which could supplement or correct the analysis the tv, cable and internet news could provide.

And so, now it is time to purge. But I will wait to weigh my potential actions.
