The Rintrah Perspective

The deficit will be bigger than previously thought. It is safe to say that very few of us are accountants or economists. But our Dear Leader, who happens to be one of the latter, and his cracked-pot team need to revise the numbers, and it will be worse than we thought.

I am one of the many who do not fully understand the economy but if I were to apply a simple math scheme, I would have come out with the same answer.

(Decreased taxes) * (Economic Downturn) = Lower Revenue

And now, or so the main stream rumour mill is suggesting, there may be a call for further stimulus packages. (Keep in mind that Dear Leader keeps saying Canada can weather this better than many other countries.) Further stimulus packages? Really? How about another equation?

[(High Deficit) + (Lower Revenue)] – (Another Stimulus Package) = Even less money available for public services.
